Hosted by TED University Department of Architecture "Adventure in Tracing Light: Architecture of Erkut Şahinbaş" exhibition and the panel, which focuses on the works of the architect is going to be opened in Ankara on April 12th, 2013. The exhibition will be open till April 30th.
Architects with Sinan Grand Award programme organised by the Chamber of Architects of Turkey (CAT), promotes architects, who have received the "Mimar Sinan Grand Award" in the context of National Architectural Awards for their life-long achievements with their architectural works, as well as their contributions to the field of architecture, to the public through activities such as panels, exhibitions or publications. This year's event focuses on the architecture of Erkut Şahinbaş and the details of the panel programme are as listed below.
In the words of the selection committee: "In addition to his practices in the field of architecture, experiences in the field of education and the support he provided to non-governmental organisations, Şahinbaş has provided a multi-faced contribution to the architectural environment. He not only represents Turkish architecture successfully with the projects he carried out at international platforms and in diverse geographies but his modest personality and his rigorous search for quality makes him an exemplar figure for future generations. Erkut Şahinbaş, who continuously shares his practices and ideas with the architectural environment through exhibitions and publications, is chosen to be honoured with the Mimar Sinan Grand Award."
